Service Description

Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist places specialty cups on your skin to create suction. Cupping Therapy dates to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. One of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, the Ebers Papyrus, describes how the ancient Egyptians used cupping therapy in 1,550 B.C. Your therapist will place either silicon, plastic, or magnetic cups on the designated pressure points found on your body. With a pump, a vacuum effect is created on the cups. This causes your skin to rise and redden as your blood vessels magnify with bloodflow. This allows space for expansion, rejuvenation, and regrowth to an impaired site as the blood carries valuable vitamins and nutrients to the area while simultaneously asking the fascia system to relax and open. What ailments may cupping benefit? The British Cupping Society says that cupping therapy is used to help alleviate symptoms associated with: • Blood disorders such as anemia and hemophilia • Rheumatic diseases such as arthritis and fibromyalgia • Fertility and gynecological disorders • Skin problems such as eczema and acne • High blood pressure • Migraines • Anxiety and depression • Bronchial congestion caused by allergies and asthma • Varicose veins Does Cupping Therapy leave marks? Yes, these circular shaped marks usually last 3-7 days and in some cases slight pigmentation can represent an injured area for a longer period of time. They are often thought of as bruises, but they are very different. While bruises are typically the result of blunt trauma to an area of the body resulting in damage to blood vessels underneath the skin cupping marks, on the other hand, are the result of a healing stimulus to the body and are completely different in several ways. Bruises have none of the healing benefits that cupping offers. There are many different shades and patterns that indicate different characteristics about the area cupped. Marks that are black, deep purple or blue indicate blood stagnation in the area. This means that an injury or illness has resided in the area for a long time and the body has yet to full clear the stagnation. Cupping will allow the body to deal with the stagnation more effectively and promote health to the area. CALL OR TEXT 509-979-5456 FOR SCHEDULING
